April is earthquake preparedness month in California. This week also marks the 117 year anniversary of the devastating 1906 earthquake.

We are long overdue for the "big one" in California. According to the latest Uniform California Earthquake Rupture Forecast (UCERF3) report, in the next 30 years, there is a:

• 99% chance that one or more M6.7+ earthquake(s) will strike somewhere in California.
• 75% chance that a M7.0+ earthquake will strike Southern CA.
• 76% chance that a M7.0+ earthquake will strike Northern CA
